CLASSIC BARBERSHOP WALL ART - AMERICANA
PHOTOGRAPHY PRINTS OF BARBERS
Patsy’s Barbershop - Albany, NY
I was born and raised just outside Albany, NY for the first 25 years of my life and have gone back there at least twice a year for the last 15+. Somehow it wasn’t until October 2023 that I learned about Patsy’s Barbershop - an absolutely beautiful establishment that first opened its doors in 1930! Everything you see in this image is original aside from the reupholstered seats. Incredible. It’s randomly finding gems like Patsy’s that keeps my love for this project going 10+ years later!
These fine art photography prints capture the essence and nostalgia of a traditional American barbershop, presenting a compelling visual narrative that transports the viewer into a bygone era. Traditional barbershop represent a specific piece of American that believes in craftsmanship, and each detail of a shop, from the worn leather upholstery to the barber's tools on display, tells a story of tradition, skill, and the timeless art of grooming. This series of photographs evoke a sense of community and camaraderie, capturing the spirit of a place where conversations flowed as effortlessly as the scissors, offering a nostalgic and intimate glimpse into a quintessential slice of American cultural history.
