Did a really fun shoot today with Lindsay Maria. She has lived in quite a few different parts of the world and is into salsa dancing, modeling, boxing, and snowboarding. I really enjoyed this shoot because she was great to work with and I got to mess around with a few different locations, a bunch of different lenses, and a whole lot of lighting scenarios.
On location I was only using three Nikon Speedlights, but in the “studio” I added an Alien Bee and White lightning. The one thing I kept constant was to use my DIY Beauty Dish directly overhead on every shot. I really like this piece of equipment and wanted to learn more how it works. All the lights were triggered with Pocket Wizards. Normally when shooting portraits I use my 50mm f/1.4, but today I also broke out the 17-70mm and the 80-200.
